Ok I hope I called it the right name. My dad just purchased a bx 2200 and so far the only thing not working is the lever for lock up of the differetial. The linkage works, but nothing different happens when pressed. Can anyone tell me more about this feature or what to look for. I followed the linkage back to the housing and the mechanism moves..as a matter of fact when the pedal is depressed the mechanism rotates and moves out of the housing approx a quarter inch. Did not remove linkage to see if it would move out of the housing more. When the pedal returns to the up position the mechanism moves back into the housing. Ok your alls turn. Thanks

If it's anything like my blue, you won't hear or see anything happening while it's sitting still nor until the tractor moves enough to allow the diff to lock. Don't engage it while moving or under load or in a turn. You can release the lever under load, but it won't fully disengage until the load is low enough or until it drives in a straight line (if you were in a turn to begin with). It's a handy feature but use it wisely or you will break something in the rear end. ....

thanx maybe it was the moving part that had us...tire was spinning so dad backed off the foot feed, pressed the lockup then eased the foot feed back on...one tire spun other didn't. But if I understand you correctly its like putting my truck in 4x4...if your stuck its tooo late!! it has to move one direction or another before everything lines up and locks in. ....

Easing on the pedal is a smart choice (as long as you have the diff lock pedal engaged you can rock it back and forth under full power). Also, just as in 4x4's locking the diff(s) is intended for straight line driving (yes you can use it in mud and still have some steering ability) But if you have accidentally locked the diff on hard pavement, depending on how much weight is on the front for steering you may find yourself going straight since the rear wheels are locked. Even my blue when the part-time 4x4 SelectTrac system is off and it's locked in 4x4 it tends to go where it wants, which may not be where you wanna go. ....

The Bx does not lock with light pressure on the lock pedal. You must hold pressur on it and then it will move down like it is going into a notch. I expect he is not holding pressure on the diff lock. Most of the time the machine has to be moving for it to go into lock. ....

My bx2200 won't go into lock unless I am gently driving forward. When it gets stuck I still need to GENTLY press on the forward pedal and it goes in. You do have to press with a little pressure as well but Since it was new itwouldn't go in unless you had a little forward movement or wheel spin BUT SLOW so you don't break anything. ....
